Track of the Week
Vondelpark - California Analog Dream
Yearning. Warm. Wistful. Beautiful. Hypnotic. Soothing. All suitable adjectives to describe Vondelpark's gorgeous (there's another one) 'California Analog Dream', taken from their debut album Seabed. Lewis Rainsbury's barely-there vocals drift gently atop undercurrents of acoustic guitar, subtle harmonica and gentle percussion to glorious effect.
Features
Some great records just aren't recognised as such. Whether ignored and derided by an artist's already established audience because of a change of direction or style, panned by an increasingly fickle and trend-hopping music press or simply lost amongst the enormous volume of albums released each week, some classics remain underrated, undervalued and underexposed. This week J. Drummond revisits and re-evaluates Hopesfall's fourth and final album Magnetic North.
